The Outback is a particularly pretty place in the northwest corner of the farm. It will be the place where we develop camping sites for those wishing to enjoy a “closer to nature” outdoor experience. The Outback has easy on and off access from a county road which has recently been resurfaced.
The plan is to make individual camping spots with all the amenities; electricity, water, tent pads, tables and grills, wonderful shade, spectacular views, and access to the trails and other facets of the Farm Adventure!.
It is planned to construct a central, luxurious bath house comprised of individual units rather than the typical “locker room” type shower facilities. This will allow our guest a longer, more comfortable visit; especially those traveling by motorcycle.
A playground and swimming hole are in the works, along with insect controlled sites. The insect controlled campsites will include all camping amenities as mentioned before and be protected by a dome of screen. Those who have camped or picnicked during the summer months will realize what a blessing this will be. At certain time of the year insects can make an outdoor eating experience unbearable; even impossible. I’ve been to ice cream socials where the flies ate more desert than the people attending. Not here. It’s planned to make a camping/picnicking experience available for everyone no matter the season.
